This publication was a first for me where I have co-written a chapter of the book in Chinese and English. In this project, I had been documenting, organising and analysing the 218 neon artworks, shown in detail in this publication, for over 2 years in preparation for introducing these important artefacts of Hong Kong graphic design to the public.

The scope of research, hence the content of this publication revolves around the historical, cultural and visual impact of these restaurant neon sign artworks. The documentation and organisation of the artworks had established grounds for an archive to be developed. I am really glad to have the opportunity to conduct archival research and management and to oversee the whole project. It has once again broadened my horizons in the context of Hong Kong's local design and history.
